Day 1: Airport- Bujumbura
On your arrival at Bujumbura airport, meet and greet by our driver-guide and transfer to the hotel for check in. Afterwards, enjoy a half day city tour including:
- The Explorers Memorial, a huge rock in the Suburbs of Bujumbura commemorating the meeting between explorers Livingstone & Stanley
- Independence Hero Mausoleum
- Independence Monument
- Belvedere Hill which offers a scenic view of Bujumbura City
- Unity Monument
Overnight at Safari Gate Hotel (3*)
Day 2: Bujumbura- Gitega
After breakfast at 8:00, Visit Albert’s crocodiles and take a nature walk in Rusizi N.P before a boat trip let you explore closer the hippos and birds in Rusizi River and Lake Tanganyika and enjoy spectacular scenery.
After lunch, transfer to Gitega with a stopover at Kiganda royal grounds, one of the historical sanctuaries containing all details about signing the Treaty between Germans and King Mwezi Gisabo who was the traditional ruler during that colonial era.
Overnight at Tropitel Hotel Gitega (3*)
Day 3: Gitega- Ruvubu- Gitega
After early breakfast at your hotel, transfer to Ruvubu and have a full day at Ruvubu N.P, the largest National Park and home to different animals like Hippos, crocodiles, Buffalos, monkeys and antelopes; then drive to Gitega in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Gitega-Karera Waterfalls- Bujumbura
After breakfast you will drive to Gishora drum sanctuary and visit the Burundi National museum. Later, transfer to Rutana to admire the amazing Karera waterfalls then the Source of Nile in Rutovu. On your way back to Bujumbura, you will stop by one of the families in the Mugamba region to understand the daily lifestyle of the people in this region.

Day 5: Bujumbura- Airport
After breakfast,
- Visit of ARFIC, the coffee processing factory in Bujumbura. Coffee and tea are the main export products and source of income for Burundi. During your visit, you will go through the coffee processing steps until the final product. A cup of coffee will be offered on the spot and you can buy coffee right from there.
- After ARFIC visit, drive around the city to the handcraft’s village “Chez Natalie” to buy some souvenirs for friends.
- Your guide can also improvise on any visit around the city, he is flexible and can always inspire you on new things to do.
- After, transfer to Bujumbura airport
