Tours East Africa, a Habari Travels outfit has very humble beginnings from 2007 when two Ugandans decided to disrupt the travel space in Uganda and Rwanda. We started with self drive safaris when nobody could imagine that it was possible for safari enthusiasts to self drive in a 4×4 through Uganda’s national parks and by extension self drive from Uganda cross border into Rwanda. Back then the only option available to visitors was scheduled safaris that everybody had to sign up to irrespective of whether the itineraries suited the visitor’s safari objectives.
We revolutionized the travel industry by introducing self designed, guided safaris in Uganda and Rwanda. We have come a long way since our humble beginnings to date after perfecting our travel model to include combined safaris to the East African sought after destinations of Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.
We have over the years had the pleasure of organizing self drive and guided trips for well over 2000 travelers across East Africa each year. We have consciously decided to remain a small boutique company that focuses on the needs of our intrepid travelers and our mission to date remains the same as when we started out on this journey of providing bespoke and memorable travel experiences every time. We want our past clients to return home having fallen in love with the destinations where we travel with them in East Africa. Over the years, we have perfected our craft, we usually know what makes a safari work, we know how to strike the balance between long drives, a balance of activity inclusions, a mix of relaxation on the beach or adventure kayaking the Nile or surfing the grade 5 rapids. There is plenty that we know that you will struggle to find on google, we know paths that will not register on google maps, we provide authentic and memorable safari experiences when you travel to Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia.
Our guides and safari planning staff are born and raised in-country and know these destinations like the backs of their hands. So, we make sure you discover and learn about the places that you visit, that you get to learn the culture, traditions and history of the people that you will meet while on safari. We run private customized safaris so that you’re exploring a destination independently. We do nor run group tours with strangers. It will be only you and your travel party in the safari vehicle, giving you total privacy and allowing you to soak in the sights and sounds of East Africa un-interrupted.
We provide well researched itineraries in our tours section, but are open minded enough to cater for individual preferences and tour objectives. We will thus run your self designed itineraries and selection of lodge and hotel accommodation preferences. We shall only supply the driver guide and leave you to explore East Africa in your preferred way, peace and comfort. We make every effort to make our safaris ecofriendly with minimum impact on the environment. We offset our carbon footprint by planting a minimum of 25,000 trees every year in tree plantation in Nakasongola Uganda.
