DAY 1: ARRIVE AT DAR ES SALAAM
Met on arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport by our expert safari guide who will transfer you to Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel your accommodation for the night.

DAY 2: FLY TO SELOUS GAME RESERVE
Have breakfast early at Dar es salaam Serena Hotel before being transferred to Dar es salaam Airport for your morning scheduled flight to Selous Game Reserve. Flight arrival is at Stigler’s Airstrip in the Selous Game Reserve from where you will be met by your expert safari driver guide who will transfer you to either Serena Mivumo River Lodge OR Selous Serena Camp. You will have game drives enroute to the lodge/camp.
If you are staying at Serena Mivumo River Lodge, you will have dramatic views of the Rufiji River and the Stigler’s Gorge. The lodge is located on the banks of the Rufiji River and offers 12 boutique luxury and comfortable rooms. Accommodation is in traditional thatched wooden chalets with a private viewing deck and spectacular views of an infinity pool below. The chalets are decorated with classic safari antiques and ultra-modern leather and rattan styled furniture.
After checking in, you will be briefed about your safari activities in the Selous Game Reserve by your safari driver guide. You will have an opportunity to discuss and tailor the safari to your preferred activities and itinerary.

DAY 3 & 4: SELOUS GAME RESERVE
You will have two full days to explore and have game drives in the vast Selous Game Reserve. The Selous is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest national park in Africa. It receives fewer visitors than its more famous cousin in the northern circuit of Tanzania-The Serengeti, but incredibly it is 4 times the size of Serengeti as it covers over 55,000 square kilometres which is more than 5% of the total area of Tanzania. The Selous is quite simply vast and astounding with rich wildlife and diverse game and birdlife. The Selous boasts of a varied landscape from hot volcanic springs, lakes plus channels from the Great Ruaha and Rufiji rivers’.
While on safari in the Selous do not miss exploring the Selous lakes of Tagalala, Nzerakela and Manze. 70% of Tanzania’s elephant population is found in the Selous, be sure to spot large herds of elephants here. In addition, you will spot plenty of hippos, buffalos, lions and wild dogs. To a lesser extent the Selous also hosts, Nyasaland gnu, brindled gnu, hartebeest, Greater Kudu, sable antelope, eland, reedbuck, bushbuck, waterbuck, warthog, zebras, giraffe, wildebeest, leopard and cheetah.
Birders will have field day in the Selous Game Reserve as there are over 350 species of birds including African snipe, Bataleur eagle, crested lark, Green-headed oriole, Knob-billed duck, herons, kingfishers, geese and Southern Ground hornbill.
On the evening of day 4 you will have a boat safari that explores the different channels of the great Rufiji River. It will be an opportunity to view the hippos and crocodiles from very close range. There is also plenty of water birds to see while on the boat cruise including a large variety of herons, storks, ducks, stilts & other water birds.
For fishing enthusiasts, you could instead of the boat safari, have a fishing expedition on the Rufiji River for chance to catch the big catfish, vundu or triggerfish. Celebrate your catch with a sundowner on the banks of the Rufiji as the sun goes down in the beautiful horizon of the great Selous. A truly remarkable and memorable safari experience to treasure for a very long time.

DAY 5: FLY TO ZANZIBAR
Breakfast at the Lodge/Camp and later be transferred to Stigler’s Airstrip with game drives enroute.
You are scheduled on a morning flight to the magical Zanzibar Island. Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport, you will be met by our Zanzibar representative who will drive you to Stone Town and finally to the splendid Zanzibar Serena Hotel where you are booked to stay for the next 3 nights as you explore the white sandy beaches of Zanzibar.

DAY 6 & 7: ZANZIBAR
You will have 2 full days in Zanzibar to explore Stone Town and the white sandy beautiful beaches of Zanzibar Island. You may also instead elect to spend your 2 days on Zanzibar Island by exploring Old town, Jozani forest or go for a Dolphin safari, visit to Prison Island and Deep-sea fishing
Dinner and overnight at Zanzibar Serena Hotel.
DAY 8: ZANZIBAR TO DAR ES SALAAM & DEPARTURE
Breakfast in at Zanzibar Serena Hotel and later transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your scheduled flight to Dar es Salaam International Airport where you will be met by our Representative and facilitated to connect to your onward destination.
