Arrive Nairobi and depart Entebbe.
This extensive safari combines our Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda itineraries. The Mara-Serengeti National Parks are some of the most game rich reserves in the world. You will get to experience both the Masai Mara and the Serengeti. After exploring Kenya’s scenic lakes and the expansive plains of the Maasai Mara, you’ll travel overland to Arusha to begin your journey through northern Tanzania’s most popular national parks of Serengeti, Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater.
The safari holiday adventure continues from northern Tanzania where you will fly from Kilimanjaro Airport to Kigali to start the next leg of your East Africa combo tour. You will tour Kigali before travelling to Virunga Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey tracking. The next day we cross the border into Uganda and onward to Bwindi for mountain gorilla tracking. From Bwindi we proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a boat cruise and more safari game drives. Next on the safari tour is Kibale Forest for chimpanzee tracking and the Bigodi Swamp walk. We finally travel from Fort Portal to Kampala where our safari adventure ends.

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
On arrival, transfer to your hotel to relax ahead of your safari. Stay: Nairobi Intercontinental Hotel
Day 2: Nairobi to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, drive to Lake Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch. This afternoon, there’s the option to take a boat ride or relax at your lodge, the Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. Approx. journey time: 2 hours. Stay: Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge.
Day 3: Lake Naivasha
A day trip to Lake Nakuru National Park for bird watching the over 400 bird species recorded in the park. There is also opportunities for game viewing on game drives of lion, leopard, buffalo and Rothschild giraffe, as well as white rhino and the endangered black rhino. Stay: Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha to Maasai Mara
Early rise and drive to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the most famous game reserve in the world, in part because of the annual great migration between July and October. Approx. journey time: 7 hours. Stay: Mara Serena Safari Lodge.
Day 5: Maasai Mara
A full day of game drives in the Masai Mara with an option hot air balloon safari over the great Masai Mara. Stay: Mara Serena Safari Lodge (or similar). B, L, D.
Day 6: Maasai Mara to Amboseli.
After an early breakfast, you’ll begin the drive back to Amboseli National Park, with game drives enroute. Dinner and overnight at Serena Amboseli Lodge.
Day 7: Amboseli to Arusha.
Morning game drive in Amboseli and then transfer to Arusha. On arrival, you’ll be taken to the Kibo Palace Hotel – A hotel with fantastic views of Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. Stay: Kibo Palace Hotel.
Day 8: Arusha to Lake Manyara
Today is the start of the Tanzania leg of your safari. You transfer to Lake Manyara a comfortable 2 hours’ drive from Arusha.
Arrive at the Lake Manyara Serena Lodge for lunch. Perched on the rim of the Great Rift Valley, this rustic-luxe lodge has stunning views over Lake Manyara. After lunch enjoy an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, home to hippos, elephants, flamingos, and the famous tree-climbing lions.
Approx. journey time: 2 hours. Stay: Lake Manyara Serena Lodge.
Day 9: Lake Manyara to Serengeti
Early start for the long scenic drive north to the famous and vast Serengeti National Park, arriving at the Serengeti Serena Lodge in time for lunch. Have an afternoon game drives in search of the Big Five and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Approx. journey time: 5 hours. Stay: Serengeti Serena Lodge.
Day 10: Serengeti
Morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti to eyeball the big cats, rhino, buffalo and giraffe that call home the vast savanna plains of the renowned Serengeti. Stay: Serengeti Serena Lodge
Day 11: Serengeti to Ngorongoro
Early departure from Serengeti for Ngorongoro, with game drives in the expansive Serengeti plains en-route. We visit the archaeological site of Olduvai Gorge. Picnic lunch as well as an afternoon game drive at the floor of Ngorongoro Crater, one of the natural wonders of the world. Approx. journey time: 4 hours. Stay: Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.
Day 12: Ngorongoro to Arusha to Kigali.
Early wake up and make our way back to to Arusha (approx. journey time: 3 hours). Lunch in Arusha before transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your connecting flight to Kigali Rwanda for our next leg of the safari. Arrival at Kigali and transfer to your Kigali Hotel. Dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel.
Day 12: Kigali to Volcanoes National Park.
Meet and great by your expert driver guide who will brief you about your safari through Rwanda. Set off from Kigali after a Kigali city tour which includes a visit to the genocide memorial at Gisozi, embark on a 2.5 hours’ drive to Volcanoes National Park.
Arrival and check into Mountain Gorilla View Lodge. Afternoon walk to the twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.
Day 13: Volcanoes National Park to Bwindi.
Early start to track the golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park. Average tracking time is 2-3 hours. Return to the lodge for lunch and later depart for Bwindi in Uganda.
Afternoon guided walk. Dinner and overnight at Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge.
Day 14: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking
Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Park. To many, meeting the gorillas in their natural habitat is the highlight of an East African safari. Spend one hour with the gorillas and then return to the lodge for an evening at leisure at the lodge.
Day 15: Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth Park.
Today we depart Bwindi for Queen Elizabeth Park via Ishasha where on game drives enroute, you will spot the famous tree climbing lions. Arrive at Bush Lodge and time permitting have game drives in Queen Elizabeth Park in search of the big five and cats.
Dinner and overnight at Bush Lodge
Day 16: Game drives & Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth Park.
Morning game drive and an afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel that connects lakes Edward and George. You will spot plenty of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, antelopes, topi, plenty of birds and so much more game and wildlife. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Bush Lodge.
Day 17: Queen Elizabeth Park to Kibale Forest
Depart Queen Elizabeth Park for Kibale Forest a short 2hours drive. Photo ops at the equator crossing. Arrive in Fort Portal in time for lunch. Check in at Crater Safari Lodge.
Day 18: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest.
Morning chimpanzee tracking and afternoon Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary walk where you have an opportunity to watch various types of monkeys, primates and birds.
Day 19: Kibale to Entebbe.
All goods things come to and end. Sadly today we depart from Kibale for a 5 hours’ drive passing through beautiful tea plantations enroute to Kampala and onward to Entebbe airport for your onward flight back home.
