Day 1: Arrival to Entebbe
On arrival to Entebbe airport EBB, you will be welcomed by our airport representative and expert safari driver guide. You’ll be transferred to Boma Guest House for the night. The afternoon is yours to spend at leisure or you may elect to take guided visits to the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre & botanical gardens in Entebbe. Avid bird watchers can travel to the lakeside beach of Nabinonya for some serious birding opportunities.
Days 2-3: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience Kibale Forest & Bigodi Swamp Walk | 2 Nights.
Today you depart from Entebbe and head west through Mubende. You will drive past beautiful pine plantations and tea plantations as you get closer to Fort Portal. Lunch is envisaged in Fort Portal before you continue to Kibale Forest, driving through scenic crater lakes and more tea plantations before you arrive at Kibale Forest Camp for dinner and overnight. Kibale Forest Camp is located in the middle of a natural forest giving you a feeling of being close to nature. Time permitting you have an evening walk through the Bigodi Swamp & wetland sanctuary an area with a very rich birdlife and primates.
On the next day, you’ll have the opportunity of participating in a chimpanzee habituation experience. You will spend the entire day with a team of researchers that habituate the chimps for human presence. It is these chimps that would in later months and years be tracked by chimp tracking visitors to the forest. Chimpanzees are man’s closest relatives and share 99% of our DNA.

Days 4-5: Boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park | 2 Nights.
Today depart from Kibale Forest after breakfast and head to Queen Elizabeth National Park. We drive along the slopes of the Mountains of the Moon-Rwenzori. This a scenic drive that takes us through beautiful Ugandan farms, we cross the equator, stop for photo ops before arriving at Queen Elizabeth National Park. We have an evening game drive in search of animals and wildlife before retiring to either Bush Lodge or Mweya Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
The 2nd day in Queen Elizabeth Park will start with an early morning game drive in search of the big cats, lions and leopards, as well as elephants, buffalos, the Ugandan cob, antelopes, oribis and so many more animals that reside in the park. In the afternoon, you’ll join a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel that connects lakes George and Albert. You’ll see plenty of hippos, crocodiles and elephants as they come down to the banks of the lakes to drink in the hot Ugandan afternoon sun.
Days 6-7: Tree climbing lions & Gorilla trekking in Bwindi | 2 Nights
BWINDI NATIONAL PARK, UGANDA
An early departure to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. We drive via Ishasha in the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth with game drives enroute as we search for the famous tree climbing lions of Ishasha. You will exit the park and travel through some of the most scenic areas of Uganda and East Africa will gentle rolling hills that characterize much of south western Uganda. Arrival at Bwindi, with evening walks around the lodge as you prepare for the experience of a lifetime the following day.
On day 7, you’ll go for gorilla tracking and spend an hour with the gorillas before returning to the lodge. Gorilla tracking demands a certain level of fitness especially when tracking the gorillas in Nkuringo that tend to range high up in the mountains. Porters are available to assist with carrying gorilla tracking gear and to assist the disabled. We recommend that you carry long sleeved shirts and trousers to protect yourself from stinging nettles in the forest. Sturdy walking boots are also essential as the ground tents to be slippery when it rains.
Day 8: Game drives and walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park | 1 Night
Today we depart from Bwindi and drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Lunch is anticipated in Mbarara and later transfer to Mihingo Lodge. After a little unwinding, you will embark on an afternoon game drive or guided walking safari in the park.
Day 9: Lake Mburo and departure for Entebbe.
You may have a boat ride on a lake in Lake Mburo or a guided walking safari or visit to a local village before departing from Lake Mburo National Park, via Masaka. You will have another equator crossing photo op at Kayabwe Trading Centre. This is an opportunity to buy souvenirs and crafts for loved ones back home. We continue our safari to Kampala, negotiating through sometimes crazy traffic before arriving back in Entebbe for your departure flight to your next safari destination or back home, sweet home.
