Mutanda Lake Resort is a beautiful safari lodge situated on a peninsula on the serene Lake Mutanda. The Lake Mutanda and Mutanda Lake Resort are located between the Mgahinga and Bwindi National Parks, as well as the majestic Virunga Mountains and Volcanoes, giving the resort dramatic views in the horizon and beyond.
The lodge offers very comfortable and luxury accommodation chalets making it a perfect base for tracking the mountain gorillas in Bwindi, hiking the Virunga Volcanoes, bird watching in the Bwindi and Lake Mutanda areas as well boat canoes on the lake and nature walks in the area.

Mutanda Lake Resort is a perfect the base for a range of activities in Bwindi an Mgahinga National Parks, including , gorilla tracking of course and bird spotting in the Bwindi forest. Additional activities include visiting Mutanda Island, guided nature walks, leisurely boat cruise on the lake for a boat subdowner, dug-out canoeing on Lake Mutanda like the local fishermen do.
You may also participate in hiking a volcano, including hiking mount Muhavura, mount Sabyinyo or th Sabyinyo gorge hike and golden monkey tracking. In addition, take a local village walk, visit the Garama caves and learn the Batwa ways of living, cultures and traditions. Alternatively you could simply take a swim in the serene Lake Mutanda. Lake Mutanda is a birder’s paradise. There is plenty of bird species to see including the grey-crowned crane, pelicans on Lake Mutanda or the noisy hadada ibis feeding on the shores of the lake. The African spoonbill and sacred ibis are resident in the nearby swamps. The lake is also home to the African clawless otter, as are kites buzzards and hawks that keep circling over the lake.Colurful sunbirds and busy weaverbirds can also be seen in the skies over Lake Mutanda.
