Mweya Safari Lodge enjoys an enviable location of being sited in the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s oldest parks having been gazetted along with Murchison Falls National Park in 1952. QENP was originally named Kazinga National Park but was later renamed as Queen Elizabeth National in 1954 to commemorate a visit by Queen Elizabeth. The park hosts well over 610 bird species, the 2nd highest number of any park in Africa. QENP hosts well over 95 species of mammals, the highest of any other Uganda national parks.
Mweya Safari Lodge enjoys spectacular views of the Kazinga Channel. Each of the rooms at the lodge has dramatic views from which you can catch the forest hogs grazing outside the lodge including the odd hippo that will pay a visit to the lodge’s grounds.

The lodge arranges a range of activities and visitor attractions in Queen Elizabeth Park. Take a game drive in a customized safari 4×4 into the park in search of lions, leopards, buffalos, cheetahs, giraffes, oribis, antelopes, elephants and so much more wildlife and birds. One is also able to take a boat cruise on one of Mweya Safari lodge’s luxury boats along the Kazinga Channel. A boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel is a great way to spot hippos and much more wild game as they come to the banks of the lake to drink. Plenty of bird species will be observed too.
There is also an opportunity to track chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge natural forest which is also a habitat for black & white monkeys, elephants, buffaloes and hippos. If your preference is to relax at the lodge, what better way to unwind than with a massage at the Mweya Safari Lodge health club and spa which offers a range of treatments to rejuvenate you after a long day tracking the chimps in Kyambura or on a game drive searching for tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth Park or the big five in the Kasenyi and Mweya peninsula game tracks.
