The Rainforest Lodge Mabira is a luxury boutique ecolodge set within the now endangered Mabira Forest Reserve. It is part of the Geolodges group of Lodges and offers all the luxuries that one has come to expect from the likes of Jacana Lodge in Queen Elizabeth, Equator Snow Lodge Rwenzori and The Observatory in Queen Elizabeth Park.

The Rainforest Lodge is conveniently situated in the Mabira Forest Reserve a comfortable 54kms from Kampala which is about 45 minutes’ drive and only under 30kms from Jinja town, making The Rainforest Lodge an idea getaway for business and holiday travelers alike. The lodge provides dramatic views of the forest, very comfortable accommodations in wooden chalets, a bar and onsite dining.
Mabira Forest is Uganda’s 2nd largest forest and home to a great number of rare tree species, 310 bird species some of them endemic to Mabira, 220 butterflies species and over 20 animal species. Unfortunately, over the past few years the rainforest has come under persistent illegal logging that has threatened its existence and its entire ecosystem. Equally dedicated efforts to save Mabira Rainforest are underway to ensure its survival plus the survival of all the birds, animals and wildlife that call Mabira home.
The Rainforest Lodge has 12 accommodation cabins each with ensuite luxury bathrooms, a private viewing deck and very comfortable beds. The cabins are extremely spacious and kept cool at all times of the day and night by the forest microclimatic conditions. There is a public lounge with an upper viewing deck that offers splendid view of the forest. The restaurant offers onsite dining to residents at the lodge and day visitors alike.
