Great migration safaris in the Maasai Mara. The wildebeest migration is an annual spectacle like no other that occurs every year without fail in the Maasai Mara of Kenya when hundreds of thousands of wildlife especially wildebeests migrate in search of food and water and as a result the grasslands of the Masai Mara and the Serengeti of Tanzania replenishes and renews. The sheer volume and variety of game and wildlife that participate in the annual migration offer one the thrill of setting off from your camp at dawn in search of the big cats. You get the rarest of chances to witness rare sounds of big herds approaching with rumblings of thundering hooves and grunts as sounds of the inhabitants of the Mara. Every year the herds gather at the banks of the river Mara as they prepare for the most dangerous journey of their lives, cross the Mara river with the potential and risk by being eaten by the waiting prey of crocodiles. As the sheer pressure of the herd builds, the herds of wildebeest and other game are finally forced to surge forward into the river often throwing themselves off high banks of the river into the waters of the Mara and the resultant struggle of the fittest to cross the river without being drowned or swept away by very strong currents of the Mara waters. A great number of the animals will however reach dreamland by September when they will start spreading out and grazing across the Mara wilderness expanse. By October it will be a return trip southwards, repeating the same perilous journey across the Mara river where renewed and fresh grasslands await.

The great annual wildebeest migration can be witnessed on walking safaris, horseback safaris, camel safaris, morning game drives, helicopter safaris or hot air balloon safaris over the herds from the air.

Magical Kenya awaits to be explored and enjoyed.
