Day 1: Arrival and departure to Gulu.

On arrival to Entebbe airport, you will be welcomed by our expert guide who will brief you about the safari tour to Kidepo Valley National Park. He will discuss the itinerary with you. We recommend flight arrivals not later than 12 noon to give us ample time for the drive to Gulu. The drive to Gulu is an enjoyable one on a very good tarred road. We expect to have lunch at a stop over along the Gulu highway close to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary. For departures from Kampala in very early morning, lunch can be had at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary before proceeding to Gulu arriving in the late evening. Dinner an overnight at a Gulu hotel.

Day 2: Gulu to Kidepo Valley National Park

We grab an early continental breakfast at our hotel in Gulu and get ready for the remaining leg of our 4 hrs drive up to Kidepo Valley National Park, where so much in terms of wildlife sights and viewings await us in this less visited of all Uganda’s national parks. Kidepo Valley is tucked away nicely in North Eastern Uganda on the border with South Sudan. Kidepo has remained largely off the radar of mass tourism but remains the gem of wildlife and game in Uganda’s tourism arsenal. On your way to Kidepo from Gulu you will enjoy breathtaking scenic views and small grass thatched houses locally known as Manyattas to the Acholi and Karamajong who are the local tribes in this area. The views of the hills is quite simply astounding. We will also cross some seasonal rivers on the way to Kidepo Valley.

We arrive at Kidepo Valley NP in time for lunch after which we go for a guided evening game drive, the first of many in the Narus valley. Be rest assured of spotting very large herds of buffalos. You are also likely to see some large cats and cheetahs only found in Kidepo and nowhere else in Uganda’s other national parks. After an extended safari game drive in the Kidepo Valley we head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: 2nd day of game drives in Kidepo Valley.

A 2nd day in this treasure trove that Kidepo Valley National Park is. You will feel special in this place. The park feels very private with very few safari vehicles cross-crossing the park in search of wildlife. You will wake up in a serene environment to the sounds of birds that call Kidepo home. After breakfast you will get another chance of more safari game drives in Narus Valley for a repeat chance to see the big 5 in their natural environment in the expansive Kidepo plains. We later return to the lodge for lunch before we are out again but this time to the Kidepo valley proper to visit the hotsprings where avid birders will have a field day because of the number of bird species that reside here especially the ostriches. We later return to the lodge for relaxation on a warm fire before retiring to our lodge accommodation and prepare for the rest of the safari tour itinerary and exciting activities ahead of us.

Day 4: Kidepo to Sipi falls.

Everything must come to end, and our time in beautiful Kidepo Valley has come to and end. After breakfast we bid our goodbyes to the secluded and well preserved Kidepo Valley National Park and instead head to Sipi Falls via Moroto the home of the traditional Karimajong. It is a fairly long drive. We have lunch enroute before arrival late in the evening at Sipi River Lodge our accommodation for the night.

Day 5: Sipi Falls to Jinja

After breakfast, we visit the Sipi falls and then set off for your trip back to Kampala. Lunch is anticipated in laid back Jinja town. We check out the source of the Nile in Jinja and have a boat trip on the Nile in a dug-out canoe.

Dinner and overnight at Wildwaters Lodge or The Haven Lodge.

Day 6: Jinja to Entebbe.

After breakfast we explore Jinja town before heading out back to Kampala with a stop over in Mabira at the Rainforest Lodge Mabira for lunch and a nature walk in Mabira forest. Afterwards we depart for Kampala before the mad rush hour traffic , via the norther bypass, onto the Entebbe expressway to Entebbe airport for your onward departure flight.
